Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

This policy explains what information Breakfast and Brainstorms collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It describes how the site works today.

1. Who we are

Breakfast and Brainstorms is an independent publisher operating under the Breakfast and Brainstorms name. We run a free daily brain-games website at breakfastandbrainstorms.com, offering a Daily Quiz, a Daily Word Search and a List of Words game.

For any question about this policy or your information, email breakfastandbrainstorms@gmail.com.

2. Playing without an account

You do not need an account to play. As a guest, your current round, your answers so far and aggregate details such as how many games you have played are saved in your own browser so a round survives a page reload. That information stays on your device, is not sent to us, and is not included on any leaderboard. It is not a complete history of individual game scores: only summary figures and saved progress are kept locally.

Signing in is what adds cloud features: a leaderboard entry for the Daily Quiz and Word Search, and cloud-synced statistics for List of Words. Clearing your browser storage removes guest-only data and cannot be undone by us.

3. Information we collect

Account information

  • Your email address, which identifies your account.
  • Your display name and chosen mascot, used to greet you and to label your leaderboard entries.
  • If you register with email and password, the sign-in credential is handled by our platform provider. We never see or store your password.
  • If you choose Sign in with Google, which is the only third-party sign-in offered on the site today, Google shares basic account details with us, typically your name and email address. We do not receive your Google password.

Gameplay information

  • Answers you submit and whether they were correct.
  • Points, scores, word counts and round history.
  • Timings measured by our servers for a round, used for scoring and for time-based boards.
  • Words you submit in List of Words, the tiles they used, and the resulting statistics.
  • Streaks, achievements and cloud-synced List of Words totals for signed-in players.

Technical information

  • Standard request data processed when your browser loads the site, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the page requested. Our platform provider processes this to serve and protect the site.
  • The referring source when you arrive from a link or campaign parameter.
  • Error and diagnostic records used to keep the games working.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Cookies and browser storage may be used to support hosting, sign-in and platform analytics. Breakfast and Brainstorms does not currently add its own advertising scripts, Google Analytics or third-party advertising trackers, but some cookies or storage set by our hosting platform are outside our control, and we do not claim to know every mechanism it uses. Some browser storage is used to make the site work:

  • A sign-in token kept in your browser while you are signed in, so you are not asked to log in on every page.
  • Preference and progress keys, for example your display name, a guest play identifier, the number of games played, the referral source for a visit, saved quiz-round and word-search progress, your sound preference and your local List of Words statistics.
  • A short-lived session entry that remembers an open List of Words round while you are on the site.

You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. Clearing them signs you out and removes guest progress from that device.

5. Analytics

We use the product analytics built into our hosting platform to understand how the games are used. Recorded events include page visits, game starts, question answers, score submissions, shared results and word-search plays, together with non-identifying details such as the game mode, the referral source of a visit and whether a player is returning.

These events are used to see which games people play and where they get stuck. They are not used to build advertising profiles, and Breakfast and Brainstorms does not add Google Analytics, advertising pixels or ad-network scripts of its own.

6. How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
  • To serve the games and grade rounds on our servers rather than in the browser.
  • To display leaderboards and keep score records consistent.
  • To track streaks, achievements and cloud statistics you have earned.
  • To detect cheating, automated play or abuse and to protect the games.
  • To answer your support, privacy and account requests.
  • To fix problems and improve how the games work.

7. What other players can see

Daily Quiz and Word Search leaderboards are public. They show your display name, your points and, for time-based boards, your round time. Choose a nickname you are comfortable showing publicly rather than your full real name.

List of Words scores and statistics are kept to your own account and are not published on a public board.

8. Service providers and third parties

  • Base44 hosts the site and provides authentication, the database, file and image delivery, and the product analytics described above. It processes data on our behalf.
  • Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, which means your browser requests font files from Google.
  • Google Sign-In is the only third-party sign-in offered on the site today. It is contacted only when you choose to use it, and Google's own privacy policy applies to that interaction.
  • Share links for Facebook, X and WhatsApp open those services in your browser. We do not embed their tracking scripts; once you follow a link, their policies apply.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

9. Advertising

The site does not currently display advertisements, and Breakfast and Brainstorms does not add its own advertising scripts, advertising cookies or consent-management tools. If we introduce advertising in future, we will update this policy and any visitor-facing notices before ads appear and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

10. How long we keep information

Account and gameplay information may be retained as needed to operate the service, so that scores, streaks, statistics and leaderboards stay accurate, and so that abuse or disputes can be investigated.

You may ask us to delete your account and its gameplay records at any time by emailing breakfastandbrainstorms@gmail.com. We do not set a fixed retention period and do not promise immediate deletion: requests are handled by a person, and records that must be kept for legal reasons, or that are technically required to keep scores and boards consistent, may be retained. Local device data is removed when you clear your browser storage.

11. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to explain what we hold about you, correct your account details, remove a leaderboard entry, or delete your account and its gameplay records. Email breakfastandbrainstorms@gmail.com from the address on the account.

Deletion is handled by a person, not automatically, so please allow time for us to confirm the request and act on it. Deleting an account also removes its leaderboard entries; records already copied or shared by other players are outside our control. If we need to keep something to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation, we will explain that in our reply.

12. Security

Rounds are graded and scores are recorded on our servers, accounts are protected by our authentication platform, and access to player records is restricted to the account that owns them. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.

13. Children's privacy

The games are intended for people aged 13 and over, and we ask that you do not create an account if you are under 13. The site does not currently perform automated age verification at sign-up, so this requirement is a condition of use that relies on visitors answering honestly rather than something checked by the site.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email breakfastandbrainstorms@gmail.com and we will remove the account.

14. Where information is processed

Our platform provider may store and process information on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Wherever it is processed, this policy applies.

15. Changes to this policy

If the games or the way we handle information change, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site so regular players can see them.

16. Contact
